Yes, Anthony Randolph was the focus of the last post, but his performance in a Summer League game against the Chicago Bulls yesterday merits attention.
Randolph dropped 42 points on the Bulls, tying a record set by Marcus Banks and Von Wafer in 2007. Through four games this summer, the second-year player is averaging 26.8 points on 60.9 percent shooting, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.25 steals. The Golden State Warriors have to be giddy about this kid’s potential for the upcoming season.
This outing should solidify Randolph’s spot at or near the top of your list of sleepers for the 2009-10 NBA season.
TrueHoop published a list of “Halfway Home Awards” for the Summer League thus far, and Randolph tops the list of sophomores. Take a gander at the list for hints about who to keep an eye out for on draft day. Reading these resources can potentially be an easy way to get a leg up on your competition.
