A tale of two Anthonys: Morrow outdoes Randolph, sets record with 47 points

Two days after Anthony Randolph blew up for 42 points in a Summer League game against the Chicago Bulls, tying a record,  his teammate Anthony Morrow, broke the record by hanging 47 points on the New Orleans Hornets.

The guard/forward shot 18-for-26 from the field including 7-for-9 from three-point territory.  Morrow also grabbed 7 rebounds.  (Randolph was a DNP for this game, most likely to get some rest and to give other players some run.)

He’s beloved in Oakland and for good reason.  In his first start, Morrow scored 37 points and grabbed 11 boards.  If you look back at his game log from last season, his rookie year, when given 30+ minutes he can do some serious damage.  True, he’s mostly a scorer who grabs some boards and does little else, but the potential for big-time stats is certainly there.

Randolph is still the better sleeper to draft, but Morrow isn’t someone to completely disregard.  Keep him on your list of sleepers, too.  Just expect the Warriors’ erratic lineups to affect him more than Randolph.

Below is a recap of the game, as well as Morrow’s reaction.
