Buy low:
Al Jefferson: gone for two games because of a family illness, will get rest and should be much improved by December
Andre Miller: still starting along with Steve Blake, chances for taking over solo PG duties look decent
David West: new coach, Chris Paul’s help could help boost his numbers
Amar’e Stoudemire: still getting his conditioning back, too good to remain this mediocre on a high-scoring team
J.R. Smith: will produce strong lines soon
Gerald Wallace: rebounds are there and everything else will follow
Caron Butler: return of Antawn Jamison could help his stats
Jamison, Pau Gasol, Troy Murphy, Tony Parker, Devin Harris, Kevin Martin, Eric Gordon, Kevin Love and any other productive players who are injured should be considered buy-low candidates.
Sell high:
Elton Brand: name still holds value, trade him away before even that disappears
Channing Frye: will have a hard time maintaining high value right now, shooting will be inconsistent against strong teams
Trevor Ariza: return of Tracy McGrady will hurt his numbers a bit
Vince Carter: Rashard Lewis’ return could be minor trouble for Carter’s minutes and shots
Ben Gordon: return of Richard Hamilton will be a speed bump
Lamar Odom: Gasol’s return is nearing
Larry Hughes: Nate Robinson and the emerging Toney Douglas will cut into his value
