Weekend Wonder: Elton Brand is business as usual after averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.5 steals, 2.5 blocks and 2.5 turnovers in two games over the weekend. He shot 56 percent (15-27) from the field and 91 percent (10-11) from the free throw line during that stretch and finally looks like a solid third- or fourth-round draft pick.

Hey Fantasy Doc, need your help. I’m in a 10team 13 man league, H2H. Right now I’m killing it in 1st place but I got offered a trade I think I want to take. My squad:

    Mo Williams
    Deron Williams
    Lou Williams
    Bargnani
    Amare Stoudemire
    Josh Smith
    Salmons
    Ariza
    Oden
    Brook Lopez
    Gallinari
    Aaron Brooks
    Ray Allen

I’m being offered Rajon Rondo for Bargnani. Should I do it, or counter offer with Ariza? I’m killing in 3s as is and competitive in rebounds but I don’t plan to win there. Should I Sit tight? Trade Bargnani or counter with Ariza?

  • Jason

@Z: If you want to make that deal, yes, I’d counter with Ariza. Rondo is slightly inferior to both, but that’s mostly because of his lack of threes, which you don’t seem to mind.

  • Sdawg

Need your help as well Doc. There are a few tantalizing FAs out there and I’m wondering if I should drop one of my guys to pick them up. Here’s my squad:

    Rondo
    Billups
    E. Gordon
    R. Allen
    Durant
    Gallinari
    G. Wallace
    Josh Smith
    Villanueva
    Bynum
    Boozer
    Scola

The guys I’m looking at are Flynn, Ilyasova, B. Griffin, J. Crawford. The candidates I have for dropping are Gallinari and R. Allen. I’m in 1st place of a H2H league and the team thus far is dominant in boards, pts, and blocks. I lose 3s from time to time, but a large part of that is missing E. Gordon. I’m usually ok in assists and FT%. and FG% and TOs are always a tossup. What are your thoughts?

  • Jason

@Sdawg: I think both those players have decent trade value, but from your roster it looks like those are the two to consider swapping out.

I’d consider Ilyasova and Crawford as the two guys to target, given your team’s weaker spots.

    Nice squad.
