Weekend Wonder: Pau Gasol averaged 25 points, 10.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.5 steals, 1 block and 0.5 turnovers in two games over the weekend and had his fourth career triple-double on Sunday. Gasol is putting up ungodly digits with Andrew Bynum still making his way back, but should remain a top dog once the man with weak knees hobbles his way back to the court.

What would you expect from Johnny Flynn when he returns? I sorely need another PG in case Chris Paul or John Wall miss any time.

  • Jason

@generic: A frustrating timeshare with Luke Ridnour and Sebastian Telfair. If he got 10/2/3 I’d be impressed.

  • generic

So Jarrett Jack is really a better option? Bummer that I missed out on Toney Douglas.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Jason

@generic: Yep, despite the timeshare with Calderon, Jack is the more reliable option.

im in 12 team 9 cat league n desperately need assist n steal.my pg is a brook n i manage to get ishmael smith.all other pg mentioned above r long gone.a guy offered me tony parker for my bogut.should i take it?my other c is scola-mcgee-b lopez n splitter.should i drop tiago n get someone else?will he ever be useful this season?thx

  • Jason

@buckeye: TP for Bogut isn’t a bad deal. If there’s a decent option out there, don’t hesitate to swap out Splitter. He’ll be useful eventually, but not for a while, and maybe not consistently.

    Great site.

I’m in a 12 team H2H league with daily transactions, so we really need production every night. I already lost B.Davis and may have been overly aggressive but I dropped him for Bledsoe – I just don’t see that ending well for Baron.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, I’ve got A Brooks too. There are some other slim pickings on the wire, but w/o Brooks I really need a PG. I realize this hurts me longterm, but I fear I’ll fall way too far out of it w/o production from my G slot. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Jason

@jake: Thanks for the kind words.

Davis and Brooks? Ouch. I’d hold onto Brooks at all costs. If you really don’t think you can survive without him, try to trade him — you’ll only get 70-80 cents on the dollar for the dude, but it’s probably better than the “slim pickings” you refer to.

If you need waiver-wire help for your G slot, see if Rip Hamilton or Grant Hill are available. They won’t cure your ills, but they’ll help a bit. I’m sure he’s not available, but if Kyle Lowry — or even Ishmael Smith — are free, consider them, too.

    Thanks Jason.

Unfortunately, in a league where every player counts, no one wants a guy who is on the sidelines for 4-6 wks.

Lowry is out there and while tormented, I’m considering the swap… we’ll see.

Either way, thanks for the help.
