This week’s Fantasy Basketball Roundtable is hosted over at Rotoprofessor. The topic is: Looking at the owned percentages on different popular fantasy basketball sites, who is one player you feel is still being overlooked and should be added in more leagues?
Here’s my take:
Arron Afflalo is the NBA’s answer to Rodney Dangerfield — he just can’t seem to get any respect. Despite having an impressive preseason and averaging solid all-around numbers through the first 14 games of the season, Afflalo is owned in just 57 percent of Yahoo leagues and 56.2 percent of ESPN leagues. This is despite the fact that he’s averaging 51 percent from the field, 88 percent from the free-throw line, 12.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.5 blocks, 1.4 threes and 1.4 turnovers in 35 minutes per game. He’s a small-name guy who’s shown some inconsistency for the past two weeks or so, but should rumors become reality and Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups be dealt away from the Nuggets, Afflalo could find himself in an even bigger role for that team’s offense. He’s built for roto play and is a comforting guy to at least stash on your bench in most other leagues.
