Team analysis: Washington Wizards

by Jason on Sep.02, 2010, under Team analysis

JaVale McGee and Andray Blatche

The good news is McGee and Blatche are two of the most promising fantasy players this season. The bad news is they're on the Wizards. (Keith Allison/Flickr)

It’s time to pump out concise rundowns of each NBA team from a fantasy basketball perspective. Give Me The Rock and Fantasy Basketball Daily are among the sites already getting started, and keep an eye out for others — the more resources you read, the better. We’ll be going in reverse-alphabetical order. These will all assume nine categories in 12-team leagues.

Fantasy analysis: The implications for LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh (DimeMag.com)

by Jason on Jul.12, 2010, under Team analysis

DimeHappy Monday, readers.

To help kick those first-day-of-the-week blues, head on over to the great DimeMag.com to read my piece about the fantasy-basketball implications for LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh after their decision to team up on the Miami Heat. All three were fantasy studs last season, but just how far down the fantasy totem pole will these dudes drop?

You know the drill. Click on the link and read the post to find out. Let me know what you think in the comments section here, or on DimeMag.com.

As an added bonus, below is a funny photo of an ad addressed to LeBron in a New York health club, courtesy of Rachel Nichols’ Twitter account. (continue reading…)

Cleveland Cavaliers – Team analysis

The Cavs are definitely sporting a new look this year, thanks mostly to the arrival of Shaquille O’Neal, who will start at center and relegate Ilgauskas to the bench. This is a bit unfortunate for Big Z, since he has somehow managed to remain productive despite being incredibly creaky and slow. Expect him to see about 18-20 minutes a night, which will drastically decrease his production, though a better-rested Ilgauskas could produce decent numbers when O’Neal sits  out of games. Chicago Bulls – Team analysis

The Bulls clearly lost a valuable asset in Ben Gordon this offseason, but this young team has plenty of players who are set to benefit from the extra minutes and touches.

We all know Rose is primed to make a solid second-year jump after posting great numbers in his rookie campaign, but his lack of threes holds him back from being considered one of the elite fantasy point guards. Salmons and Luol Deng probably stand to benefit most from Gordon’s absence. Consider Deng a slightly risky sleeper in your drafts.
