Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 3.20.12

by on Mar.20, 2012, under Quick hits

Dirk Nowitzki

Can you guess who last night's beast was? (AP Photo/Ben Margot)

Beast of the Night: Dirk Nowitzki finished with 33 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, a block and three three-pointers in just 31:21 of work last night. He shot 63 percent (12-19) from the floor and 75 percent (6-8) from the free-throw line, and had three turnovers. Diggler’s finally clicking and has been a top 15 contributor in the past month.

Lines for Discussion:
Brandon Bass: 4-7 FG (57%), 8 Pts, 10 Reb, 1 Blk, 1 TO; he’s been a decent low-end option all season, and now that Jermaine O’Neal’s done for the season, Bass will maintain bench-worthy value in most leagues

Gerald Wallace: 8-14 FG (57%), 10-11 FT (91%), 1 three, 27 Pts, 12 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 Blk, 1 TO; Wallace will have a higher ceiling in New Jersey than he did in Portland

Carlos Boozer: 12-18 FG (67%), 24 Pts, 13 Reb, 2 Ast, 4 Stl, 1 TO; Boozer continues to struggle with consistency, but his weekly averages make him worth starting in normal-sized leagues (continue reading…)

2010-11 Fantasy week 24 preview

by on Apr.03, 2011, under Quick hits

Jared Dudley

Dudley's deserving of a late-season pickup if he's still available in your league. (Flickr/Keith Allison)

Game watch:
4 games: BOS, CHA, CHI, CLE, DEN, DET, LAC, LAL, MIL, NJ, NY, OKC, PHO, SAC, TOR, WAS
3 games: ATL, DAL, GS, HOU, IND, MEM, MIA, MIN, NO, ORL, PHI, POR, SA, UTA

Waiver-wire watch:

  • Jared Dudley: he’s started his last four games and has averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, three steals, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 threes in that stretch
  • Tony Allen: he won’t hit many threes, but Allen is doing a lot in just about every other column, especially steals
  • Jerryd Bayless: he had a great line in his start Saturday without Jose Calderon; if Calderon misses more time with his bum hammy, Bayless will finish the season as a stud
  • Ed Davis: he’s racked up three double-doubles in his last four games and is worth a look if you need big-man stats, especially while Andrea Bargnani is out (continue reading…)

2010-11 Fantasy week 23 preview

Carlos Delfino

Game watch:
4 games: BOS, CHA, CHI, CLE, DAL, HOU, IND, MIA, MIL, NJ, OKC, PHI, PHO, POR, SAC, SA, WAS
3 games: ATL, DEN, DET, GS, LAC, LAL, MEM, MIN, NO, ORL, TOR, UTA
2 games: NY

Waiver-wire watch:

  • Jodie Meeks: he should be owned in your league; averaging 14.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals, three three-pointers made, 50 percent from the field and 93 percent from the charity stripe in March
  • Jarrett Jack: his past two games have been solid, though he’s tough to rely on
  • Chris Andersen: he’ll always chip in some blocks when he’s playing, but his 17/11/1/2/5 line on Friday was a doozy (continue reading…)
