Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 3.23.12
by Jason on Mar.23, 2012, under Quick hits
Beast of the Night: Paul Pierce finished with 25 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, two blocks and three three-pointers last night. He shot 67 percent from the floor and 67 percent from the free-throw line, and had three turnovers. For the season, Pierce has maintained top 45 value, which is about in line of most owners’ expectations heading into the season.
Lines for Discussion:
Monta Ellis: 6-18 FG (33%), 1-1 FT (100%), 13 Pts, 1 Reb, 7 Ast, 1 TO; Ellis’ fantasy owners are probably still booing Joe Lacob
DeAndre Jordan: 7-8 FG (88%), 14 Pts, 9 Reb, 1 Stl; Jordan has been very mediocre this month, and his owners should keep expectations low for the rest of this season
Chris Kaman: 9-13 FG (69%), 2-3 FT (67%), 20 Pts, 10 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 Stl, 4 Blk, 7 TO; Kaman continues to thrive, though his frequent turnovers weigh down his fantasy value (continue reading…)
Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 3.16.12
by Jason on Mar.16, 2012, under Quick hits
Beast of the Night: John Wall finished with 26 points, four rebounds, 12 assists, three steals and a block last night. He shot 69 percent (11-16) from the floor and 100 percent (4-4) from the free-throw line, and had five turnovers. Maybe that new Wizards roster will do Wall some good.
Lines for Discussion:
Jordan Crawford: 6-16 FG (38%), 4-6 FT (67%), 1 three, 17 Pts, 1 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 TO; don’t be fooled by the mediocre line — the departure of Nick Young is great news for Crawford’s fantasy value going forward
Chris Kaman: 9-15 FG (60%), 2-4 FT (50%), 20 Pts, 7 Reb, 4 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 TO; Kaman is still with the Hornets, and Emeka Okafor’s return is still nowhere in sight, which means Kaman’s fantasy value should remain intact
Paul Millsap: 7-17 FG (41%), 2-3 FT (67%), 16 Pts, 11 Reb, 4 Ast, 8 Stl, 2 Blk, 2 TO; he’s currently on a three-game streak of double-doubles, his longest of the season (continue reading…)
Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 3.8.12
by Jason on Mar.08, 2012, under Quick hits
Beast of the Night: James Harden posted 30 points, four rebounds, one assist, two steals, two blocks and four three-pointers last night. He shot 67 percent (8-12) from the field, 91 percent (10-11) from the free-throw line and had one turnover. Harden has been a top 25 fantasy stud so far this season, which is extra impressive given that he’s the non-starter in that bunch.
Lines for Discussion:
Blake Griffin: 9-15 FG (60%), 10-17 FT (59%), 28 Pts, 17 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 Blk, 2 TO; after a five-game drought of blocks, Griffin has blocked at least one shot in each of his last four games
John Wall: 1-8 FG (13%), 2-4 FT (50%), 4 Pts, 2 Reb, 9 Ast, 1 Blk, 5 TO; Wall has shown noticeable improvement as the season has worn on and has worked himself back into top 75 shape
DeMar DeRozan: 8-16 FG (50%), 7-8 (88%), 23 Pts, 3 Reb, 4 Ast, 1 Stl; DeRozan is on a hot streak, averaging 23.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 0.7 threes in his last three games (continue reading…)
