Fantasy Basketball Team Analysis: 2011-12 Atlanta Hawks

Derek Fisher was said to have text messaged some of his fellow NBA players last week telling them to be physically ready in case the season starts on time. Whether that’s true or not, the sentiment of that supposed message is one fantasy basketball fans should take to heart. The 2011-12 NBA season might start on time, or it might not. The point is that you don’t want to be the guy scrambling to get his act together in hasty preparation for a fantasy draft that has come quicker than expected. (continue reading…)

Beast of the Night: Dorell Wright put up 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals, two blocks and hit five three-pointers against the Lakers. He shot 46 percent (11-24) from the field and had no turnovers, which is even more impressive when you consider that he played all 48 minutes of this contest. Wright is a leading candidate for “Fantasy Steal of the Year” and should be a dependable starter nearly every week going forward.

Beast of the Night: Tyreke Evans put up 29 points, four rebounds, eight assists, five steals, two blocks and a three last night in a loss against the Hawks. He shot 58 percent (11-19) from the field, 67 percent (6-9) from the free-throw line and had just one turnover. Evans totaled just 18 points in his previous two games and has had a forgettable season so far, thanks in part to foot and ankle injuries. His health remains shaky, so his owners should try to sell high after this performance.
Lines for Discussion:
Wilson Chandler: 13-19 FG (68%), 2-2 FT (100%), 3 threes, 31 Pts, 9 Reb, 4 Ast, 1 Stl, 2 TO
Tony Parker: 9-15 FG (60%), 8-11 FT (73%), 26 Pts, 2 Reb, 6 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 TO (continue reading…)
