Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 4.25.12
by Jason on Apr.25, 2012, under Quick hits
Beast of the Night: Chris Paul finished with 34 points, five rebounds, eight assists, two steals and four three-pointers. He shot 50 percent (10-20) from the floor and 91 percent (10-11) from the charity stripe, and had two turnovers. CP3 has been a top three stud this season, which is about as surprising as Metta World Peace contradicting his surname.
Lines for Discussion:
Isaiah Thomas: 3-10 FG (30%), 4-4 FT (100%), 1 three, 11 Pts, 5 Reb, 9 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 TO; since entering the Kings’ starting lineup on Feb. 17, Thomas has been a top 50 fantasy basketball asset
Paul Millsap: 10-18 FG (56%), 6-11 FT (55%), 26 Pts, 15 Reb, 4 Ast, 3 Stl, 1 Blk, 2 TO; Millsap has exceeded the highest of expectations by putting up top 10 averages this season
Joe Johnson: 10-17 FG (59%), 2-3 FT (67%), 6 threes, 28 Pts, 7 Reb, 3 Ast, 4 TO; Johnson has put up top 40 averages this season, which is a nice bounce back from what he did last season (continue reading…)
Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 3.19.12
by Jason on Mar.19, 2012, under Quick hits
Weekend Wonder: Chris Paul averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 4.5 steals, 0.5 blocks and 1.0 three in two games over the weekend. He shot 50 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free-throw line, and turned the ball over once per game in that stretch. CP3′s scoring and threes made per game are up, though his rebounding and assists are down from their marks last season. If his owners are complaining, they should really get help.
Lines for Discussion:
Zach Randolph (3/16): 9-14 FG (64%), 7-14 FT (50%), 25 Pts, 9 Reb, 1 Ast, 2 Stl; it’s obvious that his owners should feel free to start him right away
Marcus Thornton (3/16): 13-24 FG (54%), 5-6 FT (83%), 5 threes, 36 Pts, 4 Reb, 4 Ast, 5 Stl, 1 TO; Thornton is the most valuable fantasy asset on that Kings roster, which isn’t that big of a surprise
Joe Johnson (3/16): 12-19 FG (63%), 4-4 FT (100%), 6 threes, 34 Pts, 6 Reb, 5 Ast, 1 Stl, 2 TO; in his six games this month, Johnson is averaging 25.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 3.3 threes, while shooting 54 percent from the floor and 93 percent from the free-throw line — top five numbers for that stretch (continue reading…)

Beast of the Night: Joe Johnson posted 27 points, five rebounds, six assists, two steals, three blocks and three three-pointers last night. He shot 45 percent (9-20) from the field, 86 percent (6-7) from the free-throw line and turned the ball over once. Johnson has really turned things up a notch lately and is putting up top 40 numbers so far this season, a notable improvement from last year’s disappointing averages. There’s not much reason to think he can’t keep this up.
Lines for Discussion:
Mike Conley: 9-13 FG (69%), 1-1 FT (100%), 1 three, 20 Pts, 7 Reb, 8 Ast, 4 Stl, 5 TO; he’s shooting 92 percent from the charity stripe and is stealing 2.5 balls per game, which helps his top 30 value so far in 2011-12
Ryan Anderson: 11-19 FG (58%), 1-1 FT (100%), 7 threes, 30 Pts, 7 Reb, 1 Stl, 1 TO; he leads the league with 3.6 threes made per game and maintains top 10 value
Kemba Walker: 6-21 FG (29%), 1-2 FT (50%), 1 three, 14 Pts, 5 Reb, 4 Ast, 4 Stl, 2 Blk, 2 TO; the Bobcats need all the scoring help they can get, so Walker should continue to have the green light to launch shots (continue reading…)
