Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 4.11.12

by on Apr.11, 2012, under Other

DeMarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans

Cousins has surpassed Evans in the realm of fantasy basketball. (AP Photo/Rich Pedroncelli)

Beast of the Night: DeMarcus Cousins finished with 25 points, 18 rebounds, three assists, six steals and two blocks last night. He shot 52 percent (11-21) from the floor and 75 percent (3-4) from the free-throw line, and had three turnovers. Cousins has been erratic lately, but he’s still averaging 19.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 block per game so far this month.

Lines for Discussion:
Kevin Garnett: 11-14 FG (79%), 2-2 FT (100%), 24 Pts, 9 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Blk, 4 TO; for the season, KG is averaging top 15 numbers

Rajon Rondo: 6-11 FG (55%), 5-8 FT (63%), 1 three, 18 Pts, 4 Reb, 15 Ast, 3 TO; Rondo’s dished out 10+ assists in each of his last 18 games

Tyreke Evans: 7-14 FG (50%), 1-4 FT (25%), 1 three, 16 Pts, 3 Reb, 5 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 TO; Evans has been a true disappointment this season, and his shift to the SF spot has done nothing to change that (continue reading…)

Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 4.2.12 (Weekend Review)

by on Apr.02, 2012, under Quick hits

Gerald Wallace

So far, that Nets uni has looked pretty good on Crash. (Chris Chambers/Getty Images)

Weekend Wonder: Gerald Wallace averaged 21.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 4.0 steals, 1.0 block and 2.0 threes in two games over the weekend. In this stretch, he shot 54 percent from the floor and 89 percent from the free-throw line, while averaging 2.5 turnovers per game. It’s only been nine games, but Wallace has averaged better all-around numbers (top 20 value) for the Nets than those he was putting up in Portland earlier this season.

Lines for Discussion:
Kevin Garnett (3/30): 12-18 FG (67%), 24 Pts, 10 Reb, 4 Ast, 1 Blk, 2 TO; in his 25 starts at center for the Celtics this season, Garnett has averaged 16.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.4 blocks, while shooting 54 percent from the floor and 86 percent from the free-throw line

Brandon Jennings (3/31): 9-19 FG (47%), 4-4 FT (100%), 2 threes, 24 Pts, 4 Reb, 3 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 TO; since Ellis’ arrival in that backcourt, Jennings has averaged 17.3 points, 2.8 boards, 4.9 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.2 threes, while shooting 43 percent from the floor and 84 percent from the free-throw line

Anthony Morrow (3/31): 8-17 FG (47%), 2-3 FT (67%), 6 threes, 24 Pts, 5 Reb, 1 Stl; going forward, Morrow should be viewed solely as a three-point specialist (continue reading…)

Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 3.1.12

by on Mar.01, 2012, under Quick hits

Jamal Crawford, Pau Gasol

Don't worry, Pau -- no one could keep up with Crawford last night. (AP Photo/Bret Hartman)

Beast of the Night: Jamal Crawford finished with 21 points, five rebounds, five assists, one steal, two blocks and five threes in his second consecutive start last night. He shot 53 percent (8-15) from the floor and had one turnover. Crawford looks set to continue being the Blazers’ starting point guard, relegating the struggling Raymond Felton to the bench. So long as he’s starting, Crawford will see a nice bump in value.

Lines for Discussion:
Drew Gooden: 7-15 FG (47%), 9-9 FT (100%), 23 Pts, 8 Reb, 2 Ast, 1 TO; his health, as usual, remains something worth monitoring throughout the rest of the season

Kevin Garnett: 9-18 FG (50%), 7-9 FT (78%), 25 Pts, 10 Reb, 3 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 Blk, 1 TO; all Garnett’s numbers (except for his turnovers) are better when he’s a starting center this season

Jeremy Lin: 6-12 FG (50%), 7-9 FT (78%), 19 Pts, 5 Reb, 13 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 TO; if Baron Davis can continue to give a solid 15-20 minutes a night, and if Lin can continue to keep his turnovers down, the Harvard grad will have a shot at maintaining top 35 value (continue reading…)

Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 2.23.12

by on Feb.23, 2012, under Quick hits

Chris Paul

CP3 is No. 3, in more ways than one. (Harry How/Getty Images)

Beast of the Night: Chris Paul finished last night with 36 points, one rebound, nine assists, two steals and three three-pointers made. He shot 69 percent (11-16) from the field, 92 percent (11-12) from the charity stripe and had three turnovers. For the season, CP3 has been the third best fantasy basketball player, which is right in line with expectations.

Lines for Discussion:
Kevin Garnett: 8-11 FG (73%), 7-8 FT (88%), 23 Pts, 13 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 Stl, 2 Blk, 4 TO; Garnett is averaging his best numbers of the season this month, and has been putting up top 35 numbers for the season

Chris Kaman: 10-25 FG (40%), 1-1 FT (100%), 21 Pts, 13 Reb, 3 Ast, 1 Stl, 2 Blk, 4 TO; Kaman has averaged 17.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.5 steals and a block in his last six games (sell high)

MarShon Brooks: 10-15 FG (67%), 4 threes, 24 Pts, 5 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 TO; in his last six games, Brooks is averaging 16.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.8 threes made (continue reading…)
