NBA GMs appears to have caught some kind of trading fever this season. There was a frenzy of activity near the 3 p.m. EST trade deadline Thursday, which leaves us with a mess of transactions to sift through and discuss. Below is a quick overview of the fantasy implications of the last trades of the 2010-11 NBA season. A full discussion of these trades will be posted on DimeMag.com soon.

Beast of the Night: Kevin Durant went bonkers last night, posting 47 points, 18 rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks and four three-pointers in an overtime victory over the Timberwolves. He shot 54 percent (15-28) from the field, 93 percent (13-14) from the free-throw line and had two turnovers. This was easily one of the superior fantasy performances of the season so far.

Weekend Wonder: Derrick Rose averaged 31.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2.5 blocks and 2.5 threes in two games over the weekend. He shot 48 percent from the field, 92 percent from the line and averaged 2.5 turnovers. Rose will have a hard time matching his stellar December, but no one’s complaining.

Terrence Williams will be picked up in a lot of leagues this morning, but how much optimism should he deserve? Head over to DimeMag.com to read my take on yesterday’s three-team deal that had the New Jersey Nets send Williams to the Houston Rockets and Joe Smith to the Los Angeles Lakers. In return, the Nets will receive Sasha Vujacic from the Lakers along with a 2011 first-round pick, and a Lottery-protected 2012 first-round pick from the Rockets. The Rockets also sent Jermaine Taylor to the Sacramento Kings for a future second-round pick in order to make room for Williams.
