Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 3.28.11 (Weekend Recap)
by Jason on Mar.28, 2011, under Quick hits

Weekend Wonder: Monta Ellis was locked in this past weekend, averaging 32 points, 5.5 rebounds, 11.5 assists, two steals and 3.5 threes in two games. He shot 56 percent from the field, 85 percent from the free-throw line and averaged 1.5 turnovers in this stretch. Ellis was struggling before this, and it was only the second time in his career that he’s notched back-to-back double-doubles. His resiliency, given his heavy workload, is impressive.
Lines for Discussion:
Samuel Dalembert (3/25): 6-13 FG (46%), 4-6 FT (67%), 16 Pts, 10 Reb, 1 Ast, 3 Stl, 2 Blk, 1 TO
Hedo Turkoglu (3/25): 8-11 FG (73%), 1-2 FT (50%), 3 threes, 20 Pts, 1 Reb, 13 Ast (continue reading…)

Beast of the Night: Marcin Gortat posted 14 points, 18 rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks in just 29:29 of run last night. He shot 50 percent (5-10) from the field, 100 percent (4-4) from the free-throw line and had one turnover. The Polish Hammer has been mostly solid since around mid-January, despite coming off the bench, and could see a small boost in production with Channing Frye sidelined for a while.
Lines for Discussion:
Andrew Bynum: 4-5 FG (80%), 5-6 FT (83%), 13 Pts, 12 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 Blk, 2 TO
Shawn Marion: 10-18 FG (67%), 2-2 FT (100%), 22 Pts, 8 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Stl (continue reading…)
Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 3.9.11

Beast of the Night: Dwyane Wade finished with 38 points, six rebounds, five assists, one steal, two blocks and two three-pointers in a losing cause. He shot 57 percent (12-21) from the field, 92 percent (12-13) from the free-throw line and had three turnovers. Wade has been a top-25 player this season, which is a far cry (pun intended) from his top-eight pick position in many drafts last fall.
Lines for Discussion:
Brandon Jennings: 10-20 FG (50%), 3 threes, 23 Pts, 5 Reb, 4 Ast, 3 Stl, 1 TO
Andrew Bogut: 7-13 FG (54%), 0-2 FG (0%), 14 Pts, 9 Reb, 7 Ast, 1 Stl, 3 TO (continue reading…)

Fantasy trade analysis: Arenas, Richardson, Turkoglu to Orlando
by Jason on Dec.20, 2010, under Trades

Though he wasn't a part of the mega-deal over the weekend, Young sure has a lot to smile about now. (Flickr/Keith Allison)
The Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards made some big waves over the weekend. The three teams took part in a trade that sent Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu and Earl Clark to the Magic; Rashard Lewis to the Wizards; and Vince Carter, Mickael Pietrus, Marcin Gortat (along with a 2011 first-round draft pick and cash) to the Suns.
Head on over to DimeMag.com to read my full take on the deal. Here are my quick takes on how this plays out: (continue reading…)
