Beast of the Night: Carmelo Anthony finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and five three-pointers last night. He shot 52 percent (12-23) from the field, 67 percent (2-3) from the free-throw line and had no turnovers. Anthony’s fantasy value has taken a step in the right direction since landing with the Knicks, thanks mostly to his 1.8 threes per game – one whole three-pointer more per game than his career average.
Lines for Discussion:
Gilbert Arenas: 9-14 FG (64%), 1-2 FT (50%), 6 threes, 25 Pts, 2 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Stl, 5 TO
Jordan Crawford: 9-23 FG (39%), 10-10 FT (100%), 1 three, 29 Pts, 2 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 TO (continue reading…)

by Jason on Feb.22, 2011, under Trades

- While ‘Melo will get all the headlines, fantasy owners should know that the name to pay attention to in the aftermath of this deal is Ty Lawson. (Flickr/Keith Allison)
In the slightly tweaked words of Mary J. Blige, no more ‘Melodrama. It should come as a surprise to no one but the blindest Nets fan that Carmelo Anthony has finally landed in Manhattan to play for the New York Knicks. While the deal is awaiting league approval, and though some of these names will probably move again before Thursday’s trade deadline, here’s a quick look at the fantasy impact of this mega deal. To read my full thoughts on the fallout, head on over to DimeMag.com.

Beast of the Night: Kevin Durant went bonkers last night, posting 47 points, 18 rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks and four three-pointers in an overtime victory over the Timberwolves. He shot 54 percent (15-28) from the field, 93 percent (13-14) from the free-throw line and had two turnovers. This was easily one of the superior fantasy performances of the season so far.

Chauncey Billups: 9-16 FG (56%), 2-2 FT (100%), 6 threes, 26 Pts, 2 Reb, 3 Ast (continue reading…)

He hit four threes, shot 50 percent (9-18) from the field, 100 percent (4-4) from the line and had five turnovers. Williams remains a fantasy stud that his owners are surely thankful for.
