Joe Johnson

Beast of the Night: Joe Johnson posted 27 points, five rebounds, six assists, two steals, three blocks and three three-pointers last night. He shot 45 percent (9-20) from the field, 86 percent (6-7) from the free-throw line and turned the ball over once. Johnson has really turned things up a notch lately and is putting up top 40 numbers so far this season, a notable improvement from last year’s disappointing averages. There’s not much reason to think he can’t keep this up.

Lines for Discussion:
Mike Conley: 9-13 FG (69%), 1-1 FT (100%), 1 three, 20 Pts, 7 Reb, 8 Ast, 4 Stl, 5 TO; he’s shooting 92 percent from the charity stripe and is stealing 2.5 balls per game, which helps his top 30 value so far in 2011-12

Ryan Anderson: 11-19 FG (58%), 1-1 FT (100%), 7 threes, 30 Pts, 7 Reb, 1 Stl, 1 TO; he leads the league with 3.6 threes made per game and maintains top 10 value

Kemba Walker: 6-21 FG (29%), 1-2 FT (50%), 1 three, 14 Pts, 5 Reb, 4 Ast, 4 Stl, 2 Blk, 2 TO; the Bobcats need all the scoring help they can get, so Walker should continue to have the green light to launch shots (continue reading…)

Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 3.8.11

Carmelo Anthony

Melo (and his owners) had good reason to smile last night. (thisismelo.com)

Beast of the Night: Carmelo Anthony posted 34 points, three rebounds, five assists, one steal and hit four three-pointers last night. He shot 75 percent (12-16) from the field, 100 percent (6-6) from the free-throw line and had two turnovers. This was a nice bounce-back game after shooting just 33 percent from the field on Sunday. Anthony’s stats have remained mostly steady since his transition into a Knicks uniform, with improvements in threes made and points per game.

Lines for Discussion:
Boris Diaw: 8-13 FG (62%), 1-2 FT (50%), 2 threes, 19 Pts, 8 Reb, 8 Ast, 1 Stl, 2 TO

Al Jefferson: 17-26 FG (65%), 2-3 FT (67%), 36 Pts, 12 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 Blk, 2 TO (continue reading…)

Mike Conley

Beast of the Night: Mike Conley had 26 points, two rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and four three-pointers made last night as he led the Grizzlies to a victory over the Magic. He shot 64 percent (9-14) from the field, 80 percent (4-5) from the free-throw line and had three turnovers. This was his second double-double in as many games. Though Conley’s numbers have slipped a bit from his hot start to the season, he remains a better fantasy player than he has been in past seasons.

Lines for Discussion:
Roy Hibbert: 9-19 FG (47%), 6-9 FT (67%), 24 Pts, 11 Reb, 1 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 Blk, 5 TO

DeMar DeRozan: 3-15 FG (20%), 4-4 FT (100%), 10 Pts, 5 Reb, 4 Ast, 3 Stl, 2 Blk, 2 TO (continue reading…)

Danny Granger

This is how Granger's owners are feeling -- so far. (Jeff Gross/Getty Images)

[Read the full post at DimeMag.com]

Beast of the Night: Danny Granger crowned the Kings with 37 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block and 3 threes last night. He shot 63 percent (12-19) from the field, 91 percent (10-11) from the line and had four turnovers. Despite the talk of cutting back his minutes, Granger is playing about a minute more per game and has mostly maintained his averages from last season.

Lines for Discussion:
Anderson Varejao: 7-12 FG (58%), 2-3 FT (67%), 16 Pts, 12 Reb, 3 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 TO

Nicolas Batum: 0-4 FG (0%), 2-2 FT (100%), 2 Pts, 2 Reb, 2 TO (continue reading…)
