Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 4.25.12
by Jason on Apr.25, 2012, under Quick hits
Beast of the Night: Chris Paul finished with 34 points, five rebounds, eight assists, two steals and four three-pointers. He shot 50 percent (10-20) from the floor and 91 percent (10-11) from the charity stripe, and had two turnovers. CP3 has been a top three stud this season, which is about as surprising as Metta World Peace contradicting his surname.
Lines for Discussion:
Isaiah Thomas: 3-10 FG (30%), 4-4 FT (100%), 1 three, 11 Pts, 5 Reb, 9 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 TO; since entering the Kings’ starting lineup on Feb. 17, Thomas has been a top 50 fantasy basketball asset
Paul Millsap: 10-18 FG (56%), 6-11 FT (55%), 26 Pts, 15 Reb, 4 Ast, 3 Stl, 1 Blk, 2 TO; Millsap has exceeded the highest of expectations by putting up top 10 averages this season
Joe Johnson: 10-17 FG (59%), 2-3 FT (67%), 6 threes, 28 Pts, 7 Reb, 3 Ast, 4 TO; Johnson has put up top 40 averages this season, which is a nice bounce back from what he did last season (continue reading…)
Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 3.16.12
by Jason on Mar.16, 2012, under Quick hits
Beast of the Night: John Wall finished with 26 points, four rebounds, 12 assists, three steals and a block last night. He shot 69 percent (11-16) from the floor and 100 percent (4-4) from the free-throw line, and had five turnovers. Maybe that new Wizards roster will do Wall some good.
Lines for Discussion:
Jordan Crawford: 6-16 FG (38%), 4-6 FT (67%), 1 three, 17 Pts, 1 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 TO; don’t be fooled by the mediocre line — the departure of Nick Young is great news for Crawford’s fantasy value going forward
Chris Kaman: 9-15 FG (60%), 2-4 FT (50%), 20 Pts, 7 Reb, 4 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 TO; Kaman is still with the Hornets, and Emeka Okafor’s return is still nowhere in sight, which means Kaman’s fantasy value should remain intact
Paul Millsap: 7-17 FG (41%), 2-3 FT (67%), 16 Pts, 11 Reb, 4 Ast, 8 Stl, 2 Blk, 2 TO; he’s currently on a three-game streak of double-doubles, his longest of the season (continue reading…)

Daily Fantasy Basketball Recap: 1.12.12
by Jason on Jan.12, 2012, under Quick hits
Beast of the Night: Kevin Durant finished his big night with 29 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal, four blocks and three three-pointers. He shot 65 percent (11-17) from the field, 67 percent (4-6) from the free-throw line and had three turnovers. This was his third consecutive double-double. After a “slow” start, Durant is back on track, notching more rebounds, assist and blocks than he did last season, while shooting an improved 49 percent (up from 46 percent last season) from the floor.
Lines for Discussion:
Danny Granger: 9-16 FG (56%), 3-3 FT (100%), 3 threes, 24 Pts, 5 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 TO; his points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, field-goal percentage and free-throw percentage are all down from their marks last season
DeMarcus Cousins: 6-11 FG (55%), 9-11 FT (82%), 21 Pts, 19 Reb, 1 Stl, 1 Blk, 5 TO; his assists-to-turnovers ratio (0.6:3.3) is laughable, but he’s averaging 15.5 points, 11.0 boards, 1.2 steals and 1.7 blocks, good for top 60 value
Tyreke Evans: 7-22 FG (32%), 14-14 FT (100%), 1 three, 29 Pts, 7 Reb, 3 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 TO; weak FG%, 3PTM and fewer assists per game than last season hamper his fantasy appeal (continue reading…)
