Weekend Wonder: Brandon Jennings was out of his mind Saturday, exploding for 55 points, 7 threes, 5 rebounds and 5 assists against the Warriors. He shot 62 percent (21-34) from the floor, 75 percent (6-8) from the free throw line and turned the ball over four times. Jennings is already a fantasy stud and could finish the year with top-30 value.

Notable lines:
Baron Davis (11/15) – 9-20 FG (45%), 4-4 FT (100%), 2 3ptm, 24 Pts, 5 Reb, 6 Ast, 3 Stl, 4 TO

Amar’e Stoudemire (11/15) – 10-15 FG (67%), 10-11 FT (91%), 30 Pts, 8 Reb, 2 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 Blk, 4 TO

We’re quickly approaching the one-month mark of this NBA fantasy season and I think it’s safe to say that it’s been quite a ride thus far. Here’s a quick rundown of the past, present and future.

Game watch:
4 games: ATL, CHA, CLE, DET, HOU, IND, MIA, MIL, NO, OKC, ORL, POR, TOR
3 games: BOS, CHI, DAL, DEN, GS, LAC, LAL, MEM, NJ, NY, PHI, PHO, SAC, SA, UTA, WAS
2 games: MIN

Waiver wire watch:

  • J.J. Hickson: starting for the moment, good source of points, boards and a smattering of steals and blocks
  • Carl Landry: cooled off last game, playing extremely well lately, shoots high percentages
  • Beno Udrih: still not owned in many leagues but thriving while Kevin Martin is out
  • Taj Gibson: decent producer while Tyrus Thomas is out, more appealing in deeper leagues
  • Toney Douglas: playing well with decent minutes, monitor Nate Robinson’s impact on his value (continue reading…)

We haven’t even embarked on the third week of the 2009-10 NBA regular season and there’s already a lot going on – injured bodies, prides and, consequently, damaged fantasy rosters. Let’s take a glance at the week to come.

Game watch:

4 games: DAL, GS, HOU, LAC, MIN, NO, OKC, PHI, PHO, POR, TOR, UTA
3 games: ATL, BOS, CHA, CHI, CLE, DEN, DET, LAL, MEM, MIA, NJ, NY, ORL, SA
2 games: IND, MIL, SAC, WAS

Waiver wire watch:

  • Marreese Speights: still inconsistent, but getting enough minutes to put up decent points, boards and blocks; should be good play in four-game week in deeper leagues
  • Rafer Alston: Devin Harris is still up to four weeks away from returning, Alston will be seeing 40+ minutes on most nights
  • Terrence Williams: with Harris and Courtney Lee out with groin injuries, door is open for Williams to produce (continue reading…)
