Roundup: 2011-12 Fantasy Basketball Team Previews
by Jason on Oct.27, 2011, under Other, Team analysis
In case you haven’t noticed, yesterday we finished our previews/analyses of each NBA team for what I’m tentatively referring to “2011-12.” I suppose celebrating this accomplishment is akin to hitting a technical free throw and low-fiving imaginary teammates.
Though I’ll spare you the confetti and balloons, I do want to offer this: a simple list of all 30 fantasy basketball team previews. You can also access it atop the website, no matter what page you’re on.
Here’s what’s included in every team preview:
- depth chart (free agents and players locked into overseas contracts are noted)
- list of relevant fantasy players with projected per-game stats
- sleeper
- player most likely to surprise
- player most likely to disappoint
- category specialists
- things to consider
- the team’s statistical ranks in 2010-11
- fantasy-friendliness grade
- fun bonus video
Now I’ll be working on updating those rankings.
Chain gang: Cheat sheets, team previews, more mocking

- Cheat sheets might have been frowned upon in your school days, but in fantasy basketball they should be embraced with open arms. The good guys at Give Me The Rock have shared their cheat sheets with us, including Top 200 Overall, Top 200 by Position and Top 200 for Auction Leagues. Gold, pure gold.
- Wanna cheat some more? Head on over to Busersports.com’s ADP report and draft sheet.
- It’s always good to have a new addition to the family. Nate at MFBarkley is pumping out some fantasy rankings for y’all, so head on over and take a look.
- If you’re looking for team previews in addition to the ones here (and you should be), take a look at these:
- Damn Lies & Statistics
- Life is Just a Fantasy … Basketball Blog
- Fantasy Basketball Daily (which is also asking a lot of questions these days)
- Yahoo Sports’ Roto Arcade is going through its own mock draft, which is currently in round three.
